MINING EXPLORATION TO CONSTRUCTION DEFECT TRIAL LAWYER; A SEARCH FOR SOLUTIONS AND FAIRNESS
As Jason worked in mining exploration, he came to appreciate that many Fortune 500 mining companies were tied-up in massive lawsuits and government red tape. Jason was determined to find solutions to the industry’s legal issues and promote efficient and responsible mining which led him to leave the mining industry to pursue a law school education. While in law school, Jason was fortunate to work with not only the best mining lawyers in the country, but he was mentored by trial attorneys at the pinnacle of the profession. This included prosecuting and defending massive class action lawsuits and litigating complex construction disputes.
With his technical background and armed with a legal degree, Jason’s opportunities took him from mining exploration to the construction industry. At first, Jason’s career path pushed him toward the representation of home builders and large contractors. As the lead attorney on numerous complex construction defect matters, Jason learned the intricacies of how builders strategize and attempt to shield themselves from liability. Equally important, he learned how builders use their own insurance policies, and those of their subcontractors, to resolve lawsuits and pay large verdicts.
Several years later, Jason chose to apply what he learned from representing builders to protecting the rights of property owners against their negligent developers, contractors, engineers and architects. Over his 25+ years of practice, Jason leveled the playing field for his clients through $100s of millions in judgments and settlements to repair their defectively constructed and designed homes, condominiums and commercial buildings. Jason passionately works with his team toward successfully resolving his clients’ claims. Whether the resolution occurs through a trial verdict or an early settlement, he puts everything into the case to achieve a fair resolution for his client.
When not practicing law, Jason enjoys skydiving and related businesses as side professions. He has a tandem instructor rating and Pro Demonstration Rating, which allows him to skydive with his team into stadiums, music festivals and other special events. He also spends significant time training special operations forces and government agents to perform covert HALO and nighttime insertion missions. Jason is a cofounder of Kronos Aero Systems, which has revolutionized military parachuting capabilities. He also enjoys the Tampa Rays, jazz, wakeboarding and skiing.
